A prosperous middle class means that Russia is filled with the latest and greatest luxury vehicles the western world has to offer. They even have their own drag strip called the Moscow Mile, where 500+ horsepower supercars to battle.
Yes, they are doing well, but some people haven’t forgotten the cars they grew up with, the icons of the soviet era that were driven by generations of motorists.

Quite a few old Ladas are still on the road today, and some people are so taken with the Fiat-based model and its lines that they’ve taken to customizing it. One ingenious builder has taken a Lada wagon or estate and chopped it in half, using the back end as a trailer motor home for him and his family to crash in. In place of the chopped front, he fabricated new sheetmetal and even added the windscreen to make it look cooler. Definitely a nice place to crash after a long rally across Russia.

Mihnea's favorite cars have already been built, the so-called modern classics from the '80s and '90s. He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
