22-year old baseball player Mike Trout was gifted with a brand new 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray during the Most Valuable Player award ceremony presented by the American car maker. Nicknamed “The Millville Meteor,” Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim’s outfielder won this year’s Ted Williams MLB All-Star Game Most Valuable Player.
The Red Carpet Parade of All-Stars was held on Tuesday, prior to the MLB All -Star game in Minneapolis Minnesota, and Mike Trout was this year’s winner. As the Official Vehicle of Major League Baseball since 2005 and presenter of the award ceremony, Chevrolet gave Trout the chance to chose between a Stingray and a Silverado full-size pickup.

Chevrolet also announced, in a press release, that it would provide a second Stingray with a unique hood autographed by the game’s all-star players for auction with proceeds to benefit charity. The Stingray features both an autographed display hood signed by 2014 All-Star players and coaches, and a factory original hood for driving. Bidding on the Corvette Stingray opened immediately following the MVP ceremony, and will continue until 5 p.m. EDT on August 1.

And this 460 horsepower North American Car of The Year 2014 is one of-a-kind. It takes 3.8 seconds to hit the 60 mark and its ingenious design is purpose-driven. A lightweight aluminum space frame replaces steel, while carbon-fiber and carbon-nano-composite structures reduce weight even further to achieve optimal handling and acceleration.

As to Chevrolet and baseball, you’ll want to know the company is a big supporter. Currently in its ninth year, Chevy Youth Baseball has impacted the lives of approximately 3.8 million youth. Nearly 1,700 Chevrolet dealers support a youth league in communities across the country and have hosted more than 200 youth baseball clinics this year.
