KW Dodge Challenger SRT8

If you just can't get enough of real the 'merican cars and, for one reason or another, still feel the factory built muscle or pony is just not enough for you, than this may bring some comfort. Or not, given that the ones who tampered with the Challenger, the guys over at KW, are German.

Feeling that the car has some type of "weaknesses in taking bends", KW decided to tweak the Dodge, while at the same time preserving the American feel of the vehicle. Not sure how the lambo style doors (LSD) fit with the American feel though...

KW did not torn the engine apart either. Except for a K&N sport air filter and a completely new exhaust system, Challenger's 6.1l SRT Hemi V8 engine remains unchanged. What, 425 hp aren't enough for you?

What "ze Germans" did do is to fit an in-house built running gear Variant 1, optimally adjusted to the Challenger SRT8. In terms we can all understand, the car is lowered thanks to the gear from 10 to 50 millimeters on both axles.

To cope with Variant 1, KW and HRE Wheels fitted forged light-alloy wheels HRE 995R in brushed aluminum, available in 10×22 inches at the front- and 11×22 inches at the back axle. The wheels are shoed in Dunlop SP Sport Maxx tires, in size 265/35 ZR 22 at the front and 295/30 ZR 22 at the back.

So, there you have it. Whether fitting an American with LSD is a major "no-no" in your book is up to you to decide. "The aim was to perfect a classic car of the American Way of Life without reducing the myth of the muscle car," says KW. Did they?
