“Robert Kubica is no longer at Santa Corona Hospital in Pietra Ligure. His condition is good and the driver will be able to begin a new rehabilitation phase outside the hospital,” said a hospital statement, according to local news service IVG.it.
“He will carry on being monitored by the Santa Corona doctors who had him in their care through scheduled appointments,” added the press release.
Kubica was involved in a high-speed crash during an Italian rallying event in early February, as a result of which he sustained great injuries in the right hand, humerus and leg areas. He underwent 4 operations since, all of which have lasted at least 4 hours. After his situation was stabilized, he began rehabilitation at Santa Corona, as he was pleased with how the Italian medical staff had treated him after the accident.
However, it isn't expected for Kubica to resume rehabilitation right away, as the Pole will reportedly use a few days to rest.
“As soon as I leave hospital, I'll head to my home in Monaco for a short period of rest. Then I'll move to Dr [Riccardo] Ceccarelli's facilities in Italy where I will start a deep rehabilitation programme and a preliminary soft training programme,” said Kubica before being released from hospital, according to Autosport.
