The KTM X-BOW GT4 race car will debut in the first round of the British GT championship on 11 - 13 April at Oulton Park. KTM initially debuted the X-BOW GT4 in the light class of the European GT4 last season "under the managed of experienced GT outfit, Reiter Engineering," as the company said in a statement for the press.

"We’re very excited about the prospect of running a X-BOW in British GT this season. The car is an exceptional feat of advanced and innovative engineering, and we’re confident that our expertise will help deliver a really strong showing," Peter Hignet, proprietor of ABG Motorsport, said today in a statement for the press prior to the debut of the championship next week.

Cars competing in the GT4 class of the British GT feature stripped out interiors for reduced weight and come with a number of safety features to protect the occupants. The race cars are mainly based on road models, with only a few modifications allowed, such as for the suspension, engine and bodywork. The GT4 class of the 2008 British GT champions was won by Matt Nicoll-Jones and Stewart Linn on Ginetta G50.

"ABG Motorsport have a formidable GT track record and have put a lot of faith in the car and its capabilities. The ‘Ready to Race’ X-BOW was mixing it up with cars in more senior classes in the European GT4 series last season and we’re excited that British GT crowds will see ABG’s entry dicing with the Astons, Ferraris and Lamborghinis this year," Jeff Lau, KTM’s UK X-BOW manager, added.
