CGM dug up some interesting rumors which see Austrian KTM shaking hands with Chinese manufacturer CFMoto.
Apparently some declarations made at a recent Chinese motorcycle show allegedly mentioned such potential joint operations in the near future, but there's little info on this.
Almost half of KTM is owned by India's Bajaj and we've also recently seen BMW tie up with TVS, so seeing major European manufacturers involved in partnerships with more Asian builders is only a small surprise.
In fact both the Austrian and the German manufacturer intend to use the cheaper work force in India to produce bikes they can sell in Western markets with a better profit margin. Even more, with bikes being built locally, the (sometimes) insane import takes are gone with the wind, too.
So in case it's true that KTM is readying CFMoto into manufacturing the 390 Duke or 200 Duke in China, the Orange guys will be able to sell these machines on the huge Chinese market for a very competitive price.
Still waiting for the BMW 50cc scooter...
