KTM Preparing Upgraded X-Bow

KTM is planing important changes for its X-Bow track toy, all in the bid to make the model more popular. So, what would you do if you were KTM and wanted to do this? Well, making the car a tad more civilized, so it can appeal to more buyers, would be the first thing to do and this is exactly what KTM wants to start with, as CEO Stefan Pierer told Top Gear.

It seems that KTM will launch the “civil” version of the X-Bow in the course of the following year, with this coming with a windscreen and doors. The company won’t also add a roof, due to homologation issues, but it will offer a removable roof panel that will be suitable for speeds up to 80 mph (130 km/h).

So, now that the car itself is sorted out, you also need to bring it to the public right? KTM is looking to compete in Le Mans LMP2 class with a racing version of the X-Bow, which will use a 2.5-liter five-cylinder turbo coming from the Audi TT-RS. However, this powerplant might also make it into the production version of the car.
