KTM's debut electric bike, the Freeride E will presently be showcased at the EICMA 2013 in early November.
It took around 2 years of teasing from the Austrian manufacturer until this glorious moment, when the Freeride E has made it to an almost tangible reality. The Freeride E will be built in Austria, so we can expect a flawless craftsmanship and it boasts a 22kW (30 HP) engine which can deliver 20HP continuously.

As for handling, given the bike's 95 kg (198.5 lbs) weight, it will be a truly magnificent experience. No gear shifting, no clutch, just throttle and brakes for the ultimate handling fun. The final drive uses a chain, but the bike is more silent than we'd expect.

The KTM Freeride E is rumored to sports 2.1 kWh battery which will deliver 30 minutes of green (and orange) fun. The battery is easy to replace and the dust-proof and water-proof engine and battery make the Freeride E suitable for offroad fun, too.

KTM should work a bit on the operating time, as this will be one of the biggest battles in the electric motorcycle competition. The small battery charges in 1.5 hours, but still the orange team must come up with a more appealing solution.

As expected, the KTM Freeride E sports White Power suspensions. The price is TBA at the moment, but most people agree it will have to be way under €10,000 ($12,935) if KTM wants to get a decent market share.
