Some say that it's better late than never... and if they're in North America and are KTM fans, then the saying couldn't be closer to the truth: after learning that the 1190 Adventure sill not lay wheels on American soil in 2013, guys with an Orange Crush have just found out that the 390 Duke will also wait for 2014 to cross the pond.
KTM CEO Stefan Pierer (who recently bought Husqvarna) has declared for an Indian news outlet that the 390 Duke will be available next year in North America and Europe, and that sales exceeding 10,000 units are expected.
The 390 Duke is produced in India, in Bajaj's plant in Chakan. Despite Bajaj owning just a fraction of KTM, the Austrian brand draws a lot of benefits from the partnership, being able to produce a new bike with European standards for less money being just on of the most important of them.
KTM 390 Duke will join the Duke family as the “biggest of the small” bikes, complementing the list started by the 125 and 200 models. With 44 HP and 26 lb-ft (more than 35 Nm) of torque, the 390 Duke seems a bike which will appeal both new and older riders, alike. No official price has been announced, though rumor has it that the new Duke could go for €5,000 ($6,725).
