The Bosch SU-MM5.10 sensors used a 5D measurement technology which reads a heap of values more than 100 times per second and sends all data to the bikes computerized system.

The Bosch sensor measures the longitudinal, vertical and lateral acceleration, as well as the yaw and roll rates, gathering valuable data on lean an pitch angles, helping for corner ABS intervention, traction control, wheelie and wheel slip. This data is essential to the traction control algorithms as it provides even more extensive info allowing the bike's computer to deliver as much traction as possible in a give scenario.

The Bosch SU-MM5.10 also assists cornering light and launch control and can be used in the automotive industry on a larger scale. Remains to be seen whether all this electronic technology will be enough to match and even defeat the mighty BMW R1200GS.
