Kreissieg Leaning Harley Trikes Are Indeed Different

Kreissieg (KSG) has been around for some time now, and here's a new video of their nifty leaning trikes. In case you are one of those who keep on talking about how much riding a traditional trike blows because it would not allow you to lean, here's something new.

If you didn't know about KSG's intriguing builds, then you should know they're taking things to the next level, as far as trike riding is concerned. A special tilting design allows the two rear wheels to lean into the turn, just as if you only had one, as on a normal motorbike.

The Kreissieg trikes also have a modular architecture and they behave much like a transformer machine. This means they can be ridden just like any other traditional trike, but a press of a button is all they need to switch to a trike that behaves like a two-wheeled motorcycle and leans through the bends. And makes your heart pound at superior speeds.

You don't lean, then it's not a motorcycle

Sorry to say it, but this is a remark commonly met in the motorcycle world. In order to properly talk about motorcycling, one should lean. Unfortunately, classic trikes will not allow this type of movement, and this also brings in a lot of restrictions in road dynamics.

Since traditional trikes don't lean when turning, their capability of negotiating higher-speed twisties leaves much to be desired, to say the least. However, KSG seems to have solved this problem, at least partially, with a modular architecture that looks like fun, too.

Not sure yet how fast will these trikes allow one to ride through a turn, but considering they have twice the contact patch, they should be pretty stable. Anyway, it's rather hard to come by such machines as they seem to come from Japan.

Anyway, you can always use Google Translate and check out the Kreissieg website for more info and prices. We saw mostly Harleys becoming leaning trike, but we are positive there is room for more bikes.
