Word has it Lotus F1 is about to announce that Kimi Raikkonen, who will miss the last two races of the 2013 F1 season over back surgery, will be replaced by Heikki Kovalainen for the United States and Brazilian GPs.
According to BlogF1, quoting sources inside Lotus F1, Kovalainen will be announced as the team’s second driver, although the Brits have GP2 Davide Valsecchi as a reserve driver. Lotus reportedly offered the job to Kovalainen after being turned down by Sauber’s Nico Hulkenberg.

Now a test driver for Caterham F1 Team, Kovalainen raced in Formula One from 2007 through 2012 for Renault, McLaren, Lotus and Caterham. The Finn scored one win, four podiums and 105 points in 109 starts.

With Lotus since 2012, Kimi Raikkonen will be driving for Scuderia Ferrari starting next season.
