In the world of ultra-expensive and rare hypercars, no number is too high. If you’re extremely rich and want a certain car, how much would you be willing to pay? Don’t get it twisted, we do mean extremely, filthy rich, the kind of man that would look at €60,000 and scoff, saying that it’s not worth the trouble of getting up in the morning. That kind of rich.
That’s the kind of customers car makers such as Bugatti, Rolls-Royce and Koenigsegg are dealing with on a daily basis. In order to sell a car that costs well over $1,000,000 you’d have to a appeal to a very select few out there.

That’s right, enough to buy a rather luxurious one instead. For that kind of money you could get a brand new Cadillac ATS-V or a BMW X5, just to put things in perspective.
The thing is, the ultra rich people also have a tendency to change their mind quite often so we imagine the repainting business is quite profitable for Christian von Koenigsegg’s company.
Don’t think that once you order the car and its inherent color, you can’t change your mind. The process of building a Koenigsegg takes around a year and a half. During this time, if you have a change of heart you can just call them and tell them that you want a new color on your hypercar.
The only issue is that the process has to be taken as a whole and there’s a point of no return that has to be obliged. The customer gets an e-mail and knows that from there on forward, if he changes his mind, the cost will be €60,000. Not only that but the car will also take 3 more months to make.
