How can we put this? Well, the Koenigsegg Regera is the most recent hypercar from the Swedish company, and only 80 will be made. Deliveries start God knows when, yet we found one “in stock” at SuperVettura, an exclusive dealer in Sunningdale. The British dealer specializes in Koenigsegg and BAC Mono nameplates.
As noted beforehand, the Koenigsegg Regera is listed on the dealer’s website in the “stock selection” section, defined as “current available stock.” That’s impossible due to the fact there’s only one Regera in existence as of now, the one we saw in Geneva in March, then at the Koenigsegg plant in Sweden two weeks ago.
As such, we’ve set our investigative skills into overdrive and found the Koenigsegg Regera on a popular online marketplace. Coincidentally, the listing is SuperVettura’s and the much-coveted vehicle will be good for delivery “From Dec. 1, 2016.” Ouch!
Net price? €1,750,008 or $1,987,142 at current rates. It is a common practice for dealers to do this kind of thing with super exotica metal like the Regera, but December 1st, 2016 is one and a half years away.
Anyhow, the price is a little steeper than what the brand quoted at Geneva (€1,690,733/$1,890,000). The price isn’t the only mind-boggling thing about the Regera. A 0 to 62 mph (100 km/h) sprint that takes 2.7 seconds, an output of 1,500 bhp (1,521 HP) and more than 2,000 Nm (1,475 lb-ft) of torque are only the tip of the iceberg. The Regera is a hybrid hypercar, boasting a 5-liter V8, 3 electric motors and a 9 kWh battery.
