Since Koenigsegg is touring the world with its Jesko right now, an adventure that isn't without its challenges, it can be easy to overlook the brilliant of the carmaker's Grand Tourer model, namely the Regera. However, when you own such a hybrid hypercar, you'll definitely have no such issues. Well, this happens to be the case with Carina Lima, a social media figure who recently took delivery of a Regera.
The aficionado, who also likes to engage in motorsport shenanigans, was invited to the Angelholm mother ship and could thus put the Regera through its paces in a safe environment - note that these stunts, which involve hooning on a runway, weren't performed with her personal car.

We've previously seen Carina attempting to drift the gas-electric GT and the result was... complicated. This is due to the fact that the Regera doesn't come with a conventional transmission.

Instead, the twin-turbo V8 sends its power to the rear wheels with the help of two electric motors (one for each wheel), with the setup also involving a hydraulic coupling that disconnects the V8 at low speeds - there's also a third e-motor attached to the front of the crankshaft, with this acting like a starter/generator.

This time around, though, Carina went for an acceleration test, with the sprinting taking the Koenigsegg well north of the 200 mph border. And with the instrument cluster taking up an important part of the frame, we can easily keep track of the vehicle's progress.

And, given the said powertrain quirk, the soundtrack of the experience is perhaps the most interesting part, at least from this side of the screen.

For the record, the Regera can accelerate even quicker than it appears to do is this clip, but, once again, we're focusing on the experience, not the numbers here.

Rate this... .By the way, I didn’t continue to speed more because I had to break... 🤪. . . How amazing this is? The one gear Regera engine is something amazing and crazily FAST! The Electric power together with the combustion engine (in reality 1700HP) that when both combined gives u in real time and speed 1500HP... which as u can see is completely insane 😍😍!! There are no words to compare this car/feeling to any other... I don’t like to compare cars until I drive them and even like that I think that each car is build with its own purpose... also among the Koeniseggs I have been driving so far I would say that each of them has its own personality and gives me always a different feeling each one... They can be similar in some things.... but definitely all different and that is what makes them all HyperCars but different drives... . Most of the HyperCars are trying to win records, max speed, technology and all that... but in reality the pleasure in my opinion is based on the feeling u have when u drive a car, and u feel safe to speed, u feel comfortable to go everywhere (almost) and that u can above all have fun! All these TOP speed are nice yes... but let’s be honest, we cannot drive like that all around all the time.... . Guys don’t get angry with me, is just my opinion as a petrolhead also, as someone that loves speed, but also someone that’s wants to drive and have fun always... ! Enjoy and share ur opinion 💙✌️💙. . . . . . . #carinalima #carinalimaracing #carinalima_racing #koenigsegg #regera #hypercars247
