Koenigsegg One:1 Becomes a Police Car in NFS Rivals

Now that the Koenigsegg One:1 has made its Geneva Debut, it’s time for everybody to drive this Swedish creation. Of course, its pricing may be even hotter than the car itself, so an alternative to earning the fortune you need to spend on it is to have it in Need for Speed.

The One:1 is so special that it has its dedicated download pack. We are talking about Need for Speed Rivals here, so we must also mention the police action. Yes, you can have an One:1 pursuit vehicle chase you in the same car, sans the light bar.

Electronic Arts, the developer of the NFS series, has even released a gameplay trailer which shows us just that. Here’s their description for this Koenigsegg: “The Koenigsegg One:1 is in a category of its own. It´s not a Supercar, not a Hypercar, It´s a One:1. The name refers to the almost impossible and highly sought after ratio of one horsepower per kilogram. Nothing can challenge it. In short: it´s the fastest, most powerful and most agile production car ever conceived - and it's registered for road use.”

To use the Swedish carmaker’s explanation, the One:1 is the first production Megawatt car - the thing has 1,340 hp, which almost means it’s got 1,000 kilowatts. The power comes from Koenigsegg’s twin-turbo 5.0-liter V8. The turbos use variable geometry, which means Porsche is no longer the only carmaker to offer such a feature.

As its designation tells us, this matches every kilogram with one horsepower, so, yes, it tips the scales at 1,340 kg (2,954 lbs).

The starting point for the development was the Agera, but the One:1’s is 20 percent lighter. This was all possible using new carbon fiber manufacturing techniques. Among other features that seem to come with a Sci-Fi story, the One:1 has 3D-printed titanium exhaust and turbine housings.

Koenigsegg Agera R holds multiple acceleration records, which means that the Swedes will be in for quite a party when the One:1 hits the track gifted with a stopwatch. As far as the top speed is concerned, Koenigsegg said this is a track car, so that wasn’t the top priority. Still, it is expected to leave the Veyron Super Sport and its 267.8 mph (km/h) record behind, offering something in the region of 273 mph (km/h).

In terms of cornering, the Koenigsegg One:1 can develop up to 1m344 lbs of downforce, allowing it to corner at up to 2g.

We mentioned something about the pricing in the opening paragraph - Koenigsegg will only build six of these and each is expected to be offered for around $2 million.
