As we've discussed earlier in the year, the $3 million hypercar is currently on a world tour. And while the hypercar is basically a collection of technical innovations, from its nine-speed jump-to-and-from-any gear tranny to its follow-the-driver dashboard instruments, the fit and finish is obviously the first thing aficionados across the world get to see.

So with the 1,600 horsepower monster heading to South Korea, the prototype had to go through a detailing process recently. As if that wasn't special enough, the whole shenanigan took place in New York and, as you'll notice in the piece of footage taking us through the process, that made quite a difference compared to a more relaxed city.

Perhaps the most striking piece of information coming from this fresh and clean adventure is that the Jesko show car features 31 layers of paint, as follows: 20 base coats, 1 pearl, 1 champagne, 1 of each from grey, blue, green and (ready for it?) nince clear coats.

In fact, Larry Kosilla, the Ammo NYC detailer who coordinated the operation, took the time to compare the depth of the paint with what Porsche and Rolls-Rouyce have to offer.

And while the coats above required sanding in between applications, the final result is still at least 30 mils thick, while a RR finish sits between 6 and 8 mils and Porsche paint fits between 3 and 6 mils - a mil is equal to one thousandth of an inch or 0.0254 millimeters.

Of course, with this being the car everybody touches, the paint might not be that thick on the customer vehicles. But I suspect those will be no Silver Arrows either.

So, if you happen to be in a rush, you can skip to the 11:54 point of the clip for these bits. Then again, you shouldn't, since the full 18:35 duration of the clip is worthy of your undivided attention.
