We once said that being incredibly rich doesn’t solve all your motoring issues, as you can buy a car (or many cars) and a lot of private racetracks, but you’ll never be able to own the public roads between your destinations.
Yes, that was just a consolation for the fact that we are not sitting on hefty bank accounts. However, it seems that our thoughts can actually describe a real life situation.
The two baby blue-finished supercars you see in the adjacent picture have been clamped due to the fact that they had been parked on London’s Brompton Road, in front of the Harrods luxury department store. The owner of the illegally parked Koenigsegg CCXR and Lamborghini Murcielago LP670-4 SV is said to be a member of the Al-Thani royal family from Qatar.
It is reported (Thomas Vervuurt Pictures via teamspeed.com via autoblog.gr) that both vehicles were clamped by one of London’s infamous parking wardens. We would be curious to find out the value of the parking fees.
If any of you feels sad for the owner (yeah, right) we have to tell you that he also has other baby blue (this is his favorite color) supercars, such as the one-off Pagani Zonda Uno, so he should’ve been just fine during the time his cars were immobilized.
It’s the two vehicles we should be feeling sorry for, especially as the whole humiliating clamping process was watched by a humble Hyundai ix35, which was laughing out loud from inside the Harrods’displays.
