Yes, the image that brought us here is a rendering. However, there's more to this Koenigsegg Agera Long Nose than meets the eye.
"Wait, didn't Koenigsegg already build a Grand Tourer, in the form of the 1,500 hp Regera hybrid?" I hear you asking.
Well, of course they do, but, even with all the tech revolution going on (think: transmissionless driving experience), the GT nature of the car is limited by its mid-engined architecture. For one thing, having the engine behind the seats means the cabin can only provide so much room.
So now that the engine has been relocated to the front of the vehicle, at least in the pixel world, you can enjoy some extra space - heck, the artist behind the work could've gone the extra mile, turning this into 2+2, but that would've dramatically altered the proportions of the car, so the connection to actual Koenigseggs would've been questionable.
Speaking of which, this brilliant visual work comes from Yasid Oozeear, and, as the artist admits in the Instagram post showcasing the contraption, he's going through a long nose phase. For instance, here's what happens when such treatment is applied to a contemporary Ford Mustang.
Oh, and in case you want to know more about the inspiration for that carbon finish with gold details, Yasid explains this was borrowed from supercar collector Manny Khoshbin's Agera "Phoenix", which you can find in the second Instagram post below.
Now, before any purists jump aboard the fretting board, I have to stress out that since Koenigsegg's carbon tub obviously doesn't allow a transformation like the one we have here, you won't see any social media attention-hungry owner messing with the weight balange of his Egg in such fashion.
