Knight Rider 2.0. Whatever ...

Or is it 3.0? We've lost count frankly and it doesn't look like the troubles will end pretty soon. The idea of a remake of the popular Knight Rider series from back in the 80s looked good on paper for NBC, put turning it into reality ... that's another story.

With the first season already under its belt, the Knight Rider show is getting a major tune-up that involves firing some people and hiring new ones. We hope you didn't get too attached to Sydney Tamiia, Poitier Yancey Arias and Bruce Davison, because they were not picked up for the 13 episodes to be shot next.

Also, there are a number of other small changes that are intended to bring the show closer to the 80s original, but we're not sure that is a good idea since the show only worked because it was taken away from the original concept to fit it into modern reality.

However, Gary Scott Thompson, who is executive producer and showrunner for the series declared that “It's a reboot. We're moving away from the terrorist-of-the-week formula and closer to the original, making it a show about a man and his car going out and helping more regular people, everymen”.

There might also be some executive reasons behind this revamp as the newly pimped show would fit much better in the network's “crime drama Wednesday”, along other famous shows such as “Life” and “Law and Order”.

These changes were brought about by very poor ratings which dropped even lower as the episodes were aired. The show is also doing stunt guest castings right now which only means one thing – David Hasselhoff is going to star in the bloody show sooner than we might have anticipated.

Expect these major changes to hit your screen as soon as January, until then, prepare for mayhem!
