The fact that Triumph's Rocket III machine is a beastly bike which can blow any prejudice about what "powerful" actually means is old news. However, it's time for the Rocket III to shine as a trike: Klock Werks' RIII trike has just posted a 137 mph (220.4 km/h) record at the BUB Speed Trials in Bonneville, Utah. Performance is still pending ratification.
The record-setting machine was built by joined efforts of Motor Trike, Klock Werks and Carpenter Racing, one of the most common names in the business of making fast, powerful bikes, crazy-fast and insanely-powerful.
It was no other than Brian Klock, founder and President of Klock Werks who piloted the Rocket III Trike. While Motor Trike brought in their immense expertise in trike independent suspension, Carpenter Racing took the Triumph to a blistering 205 HP for a mind-boggling experience.
Not 100% sure, but something tells us we could see such a Triumph Rocket III trike on the streets in the near future...
