Kimi Raikkonen Tests Peugeot 908 for a Possible Le Mans Contract

There are few cars left which Kimi Raikkonen hasn’t pushed to the limit, thus he tested the Peugeot 908 Le Mans car on the Spanish circuit Motorland Aragon. It is forecasted that it could lead to a possible try out in next year’s Le Mans 24 Hours, with Peugeot eager to evaluate Raikkonen’s impressions on the car. He admitted that he is eager to compete in the series.

"It would be great to do Le Mans. But if you race there, you should do some races as a test as well. It could be tricky to get all the schedules working well," Kimi Raikkonen was quoted as saying by Autosport. Also, Peugeot has previously tested seven-time World Rally champion Sebastien Loeb and is eager to run high-end drivers at Le Mans, as it did when 1997 Formula 1 world champion Jaques Villeneuve was in its line-up in 2007 and 2008.

Kimi Raikkonen’s test result were kept confidential by PSA Peugeot Citroen management board member Jean-Marc Gales.

"I don't exclude that [Raikkonen testing the car], But nothing has been decided on our pilots for Peugeot for next year. Clearly, it depends how fast he is and I can't comment on that because we haven't done it yet,"Jean-Marc Gales as the aforementioned source cites.

Kimi Raikkonen passed from Formula One to World Rally Championship and when he was not challenged  anymore he switched to NASCAR and now he could be racing on Le Mans. We keep our fingers crossed and hope he makes a good impression like always.
