You know Arabs love to do all kind of crazy things in cheap but reliable cars - from rolling on two wheels and drifting at high speeds on the highway to fast J-turns and killing tires on the tarmac. Here we’ll cover the latter, with one of their Toyota meetings in the desert ending up with a Hilux pickup being tortured to death.
Well, not quite until death, since it takes more than that to kill a Toyota, especially a pickup as we learned from TopGear, but at the end the vehicle was wearing some pronounced battle scars.
The show started with some burnouts, of which the pickup was pretty capable, and continued with doughnuts, drifts and anything in between meant to destroy the tires.
The amount of shredded rubber we then saw on the pavement hinted that the punishment will end when the tires will blow up. We couldn’t be more wrong than that...
Missing all the rubber from the rear rims meant the fun was just beginning, since there was less friction going on and the drifting part became easier.
