Kid Fools Cops, Gets Permit to Go in Squad Car

We already knew kids were inventive, but we couldn't have imagined they can fool the vigilant eyes of the police officers.

With a seemingly overdose of police movies injected in his blood, a 14-year-old kid managed to fool the Chicago police he was an officer, Kpho.com reported. Hardly can someone believe the kid was taken for a police officer or even given assignment for patrolling in a squad car for five hours before someone realized he was actually a kid!

We bet you're anxious to hear the whole story so we're ready to supply you with all the details. The episode with the teenager playing tricks on the Chicago police happened on Saturday when the kid disguised as cop walked into a police station and convinced the cops to give him a squad car. Since the boy looks older for his age as the deputy superintendent Daniel Dugan  claimed, it wasn't hard to be taken for a real cop.

His trick was discovered a few hours later when the boy's patrol with an actual officer ended. That was the moment when they noticed his uniform lacked a star that's part of the regulation uniform. However, all this time the kid was harmless as he didn't have a gun, didn't issue any tickets and didn't even drive the squad car. Therefore, police officers said he really had no “ill intent” and was only motivated by the desire of becoming a cop.

As a matter of fact, the boy once participated in a Chicago program for youth interested in policing. That's why, he was already familiar with the procedures and made things a lot easier for him.

In addition, because of his age, the police refused to identify the boy. Yet, this doesn't spare him of the accusation of impersonating an officer.
