A young boy who ran across the street, not waiting for his parents or looking both ways for incoming traffic, cheated death twice in Nottingham, UK.
Footage of the incident was captured by the dashcam of the car that hit him, which was being driven by a learner driver. The instructor tells The Mirror that the fault for the hit wasn’t with the learner driver, because the boy sprung out of nowhere and ran on the crossing. That’s where he was hit.

The video corroborates this version of events. As the car approaches the crossing, two adults are seen standing, waiting to cross; the child comes out of nowhere and is hit by the car. He bounces on the hood and is thrown into the next lane, where an Audi overtaking the learner driver misses him by inches. He then gets up and runs to the other side, seemingly unhurt.

The instructor says the learner driver was traveling well under the 40 mph speed limit.

“A family approached the crossing when their child runs from behind them, hidden behind a tree from us. Before we know it he is in the road, the brakes are on hard and... silence,” the instructor says for the publication. “The few seconds it took for this to happen felt like a lifetime as the child rolled over the front of my car and back into the road, narrowly avoided by a black Audi overtaking us.”

Then, the universe seemed to continue working in the kid’s favor: there was an ambulance traveling behind that stopped to offer him assistance, and a police cruiser.

“Within minutes another ambulance and a fast response medic were on scene helping the child,” the driver says. “The incident has been referred to the police also, who just happened to be passing by within a few minutes of this happening too. It seems like everything was in this little guy's favor when this happened, and to my knowledge, he won't have much recovering to do this weekend.”

The instructor says the boy had only some bruises and scratches from the accident, but his story hasn’t been confirmed by the police yet. However, considering how badly this could have ended, even a fracture would seem a trifle.
