Sharing much of its underpinnings with the Kia Soul, Hyundai i20 and ix20, the Venga takes the supermini recipe to the next level by offering the space and utility of a multi-purpose vehicle in a very small package. Unveiled roughly five years ago at the Frankfurt Motor Show, Kia prepared a facelift for the Venga, slated to debut on October 2nd in Paris.
In comparison to the pre-facelift model, the updated Venga has been adorned with more contemporary styling cues, including the modern Kia front grille, a set of inverse L-shaped LED daytime running lights, clearer headlamps and a more aggressive bumper.
The Kia badge up front was moved from its original position in the radiator grille's center on the hood to further beautify the lil' MPV. A handful of new 16 to 17-inch alloy wheel designs are also included, as well as a revamped rear end boasting with LED taillights.
As for cabin changes, Kia has given the redesigned Venga some dark metallic trim contrasting with bright accents, a new center stack arrangement, as well as two new seat trims and an optional heated steering wheel. But the big news as far as the interior is concerned is the optional 7-inch infotainment system that incorporates a rearview parking camera, satellite navigation, Bluetooth connectivity and such.
Slated to hit European dealerships in the first quarter of 2015, the facelifted Kia Venga doesn't debut any new powertrain option. As such, both engines and transmissions are slightly improved variants of the ones we already know from the current model. That means customers will be offered six variants of both petrol and diesel-fed mills displacing 1.4 or 1.6 liters.
All powerplants are Euro 5 compliant and come with fuel-stretching start&stop technology. With outputs ranging from 77 to 128 PS, the front-wheel drive mini MPV from South Korea is offered with either a five or six-speed manual or an optional four-speed automatic transmission.
