Kia Sportage, 2009 Ideal Vehicle Award...

... in the crossover SUV category of AutoPacific's surveys. The Korean built vehicle received the award after in May this year it also got the Vehicle Satisfaction Award. The award was received after AutoPacific interviewed more than 32,000 vehicle owners, measuring the combination of trust, anticipation, expectations and reality within specific product segments.

"We take great pride in knowing our owners are satisfied with their vehicles and Sportage's recognition as an ideal vehicle is a tremendous compliment," Michael Sprague, Kia Motors America (KMA) vice president of marketing said.

"This second AutoPacific award directly reflects the satisfaction of smart, discerning Sportage owners, and this type of consumer feedback validates Kia's commitment to providing high levels of quality, style, safety and practicality in all of our vehicles."

Of course, Kia is not the only one to score well in consumer expectations. Chrysler have two vehicles on the 2009 Ideal Vehicle list. The two are the Jeep Liberty, which won the Mid-Size Sport-Utility Vehicle category, while the second is the Dodge Challenger, which won in the Sporty Car segment.

"We are very pleased that the Jeep Liberty and Dodge Challenger have won high praise from their owners. In fact, this is the second year in a row the Jeep Liberty has earned this honor,” Doug Betts, Chrysler Group vice president said.

To give the awards, AutoPacific asked owners to indicate their desire to change their vehicle in 15 different categories ranging from power and acceleration to safety features and storage after having owned and driven their vehicle for 90 days. The full list of winners is expected shortly.
