Kia Soulster Second Teaser Unveiled

The South Korean automaker Kia has just released the second teaser of its upcoming model Soulster, a new car set to be showcased at the upcoming Detroit Auto Show. Even though the photo does not say too much about Kia's new model, rumors are claiming that Soulster is going to be a three-door model, especially if taking into account its name (Soulster is a mix of two words, Soul + roadster, a fact that supports the aforementioned statement). In addition, Carscoop suggests that Soulster may sport a large panoramic fabric sunroof that covers the entire area of the top.

The first Soulster teaser was officially launched in last December, with the South Korean automaker confirming that the new model is set to be showcased at the next edition of the Detroit Auto Show.

Obviously, the Soulster is derived from the stock Kia Soul model which was officially introduced in North America in November. Often described as a model particularly addressed to the young segment of buyers, Kia Soul packs several advanced features, starting with
exterior styling elements and ending with engine performance.

“The Soul is for those who love individuality but don’t like to be categorized by finding the next best thing,” said Michael Sprague, vice president of marketing, KMA. “Indicative of the new design direction of KMA, Soul is an attractive and customizable vehicle for those looking for something with a little more personality than other vehicles on the market today."

Besides the Soulster, Kia has even more enthusiastic plans regarding Soul, with a hybrid version of the car set to be announced this year. The first prototype was shown at the 2008 Paris Motor Show and came with a 1.6-liter gasoline engine with automatic transmission and very low fuel consumption.
