The Kia Soul is still one of the most offbeat cars that us mortals can actually afford and the second generation is even more snazzy than the original. Furthermore, the Soul is one of those few vehicles offered with a whole lot of personalization options and the new Mixx and Maxx are proof of that.
Now available for order in U.K. showrooms, these two are already customized with all the aesthetic goodies the more demanding customer would opt for in the first place. Offered with either a 1.6-liter turbo diesel churning 126 horsepower or a 130 hp 1.6-liter petrol-fed motor, the Mixx holds a starting price tag of £18,150 and the Maxx costs £19,950 for the six-speed stick shift. An automatic is also available.
Those sticker prices might seem a little bit on the hefty side considering you're buying a compact car, but if you take the eye candy out of the mix, you're left with a bucket load of features coming as standard. Both the Mixx and Maxx come with cool 18-inch alloy rims, swanky urban lifestyle-oriented styling packages, sharp LED daytime running lights and a neat rearview parking camera.
Available only in front-wheel drive guise, the Kia Soul Mixx and Maxx come with an Infinity premium sound system, 8-inch touchscreen with sat nav, leather upholstery, auto air con and heated fron seats.
But what are the differences between the two? Well, the Maxx adds front and rear parking sensors, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, smart key entry, engine stop/start button and a panoramic sunroof.
