Kia’s big-budget commercial for the 2013 Super Bowl is probably going to be one of the strangest or most wonderful ones this year. It’s about “Space Babies”. No, not space monkeys, babies.
The Korean automaker has released a short teaser video for the ad they hope will blow people’s minds. Ours is still intact, so we can tell you it’s supposed to happen in planet Babylandia, where space babies embark on “an epic journey nine months in the making.”
You’ve got a baby pig, baby orca, baby rhino, baby elephant, baby giraffe, baby panda, baby puppy, baby hippo, baby penguin and of course, a baby baby. All of it will make you go “oh, how cute”, but only if you’re into family vans, buying diapers and maternities.
The commercial will promote the 2014 Kia Sorento, a significantly refreshed version of the existing SUV, which is priced from $23,150 and will do up to 30 mpg while seating lots of babies.
