We're willing to bet that there aren't a lot of Kia Rio tuning projects out there, which is why we're bringing you this one a simple stage 1 update by French company BR Performances.
The base car is a sexy three-door Kia Rio 1.4 CRDi 90 hp. We say "sexy" because this is clearly the top-spec Rio, with LED daytime runners, 17-inch brushed aluminum wheels and fog lights. CRDI stands for common rail diesel injection, this 1.4-liter turbodiesel basically being the flagship of the Kia Rio engine range. It's the most economical engine of the bunch, claiming just 3.7 l/100km (we don't believe them). Stock output is 90 PS at 4000 rpm and 220 Nm of torque from 1750 rpm.

BRP took those figures up a notch, to 131 hp and 291 Nm of torque. It's not exactly going to blow a GTI away, but it's about the same as an old Fabia vRS 1.9 TDI.

Mihnea's favorite cars have already been built, the so-called modern classics from the '80s and '90s. He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
