We've managed to snag a few fresh photos of the ProCeed GT and Ceed GT from last week's launch event. They show the two mild performance cars in a much more realistic way than what Kia initially presented.
For now, Kia is opting to let Hyundai have real performance cars while it offers slightly cheaper and, we think, better designed family-oriented models. Obviously, the ProCeed is also a cool new body style as well, the shooting brake.
The GT nameplate has been around for as long as we can remember. Many years ago, you could buy a 3-door Ceed with a 2-liter engine for less money than a Fiesta ST. The last gen model also had a cool GT with the same 1.6-liter turbo. It had awesome LED lights, a digital dash, ambient lighting, and twin exhaust - everything a racer wants.
We think these two look more upmarket than the i30 N. There's no roughed out black plastic, just a sea of classy piano black. Of course, the aggression has been dialed down as well.
Also, the trim around the rear bumper is different, and the hatch has two individual taillights whereas they are connected on the wagon for an obvious Porsche look. Also, from what we understand, you can only get a 6-speed manual gearbox on the smaller car, which makes sense.
Have you ever seen a car that's just 1% overdesigned? Well, this is it. Twin exhaust, LED headlights, large fake intakes, red calipers, red wheel centers - those are all perfect. But why do they put that red garbage behind the main grille!
The ProCeed used to be a 3-door coupe, like the Scirocco, but we love this Panamera-like shooting brake design even more. It looks particularly sexy from the back. Pop the trunk, and you'll find those sliding dividers like in premium wagons. The interior is pretty sporty too, with its Alcantara and red stitching inserts. The only small let-down is the manually adjustable seats.

Differences between hatch and shooting brake
Even though at first glance, the two GT models are quite similar, several things set them apart, and most of them are at the back. For example, the two exhaust tips on the ProCeed look much larger, but that's because they're fakes. Also, the trim around the rear bumper is different, and the hatch has two individual taillights whereas they are connected on the wagon for an obvious Porsche look.
