In total, autoevolution has only ever written ten articles about the Kia Pro_Cee'd GT. Why is that important? Because this is supposed to be the hottest car ever made by the Korean automaker, and very few people even know about it.
To sell any performance-oriented car, you need the marketing "machine" to work for you. It feeds on coilover springs, ECU remaps and drag race videos, but the Pro_Cee'd GT is starving.

We're pleased to report, however, that one company has tried to tune the Korean rocket. Before we go anywhere, let's just mention that the stock output of the 1.6-liter GDI with a twin-scroll turbo is 204 PS (201bhp) and 265 Nm of torque.

With engine mapping alone Shiftech Lyon have extracted 247 PS and 413 Nm of torque. The fact that you can get that amount of power from a 1.6-liter is not surprising when you consider the Peugeot RCZ R is served with 270 PS. However, the GT now has noticeably more grunt than a Golf GTI.

Of course, smaller engines are not ideal for benchmark-setting cars in the C-segment. All the fastest models have 2 liters or slightly more under the bonnet. That's why even MINI dropped the 1.6-liter for a 2-liter TwinPower Turbo. But the Korean car is well equipped, as the standard kit includes an LCD, black Recaro seats with red stitching, red brake calipers, dual exhaust pipes, distinctive LED daytime running lights and 18-inch wheels.

Last year, they also launched a 5-door version with added practicality that retails from £20,495 in Britain. That's Clio RS money for a car as practical as a Megane.
