Kia Motors Announced 34.6% Sales Increase in October

Kia Motors Corporation announced yesterday its global sales figures, and things are looking pretty good. In October 2009, Kia sold 148,583 passenger cars, commercial vehicles and recreational vehicles all over the world, which means a 34.6 percent year-to-year increase.

Kia also reported year-to-year sales increases by region: in China 24,896 units sold and a 119.3% year-on-year increase; in North America 26,093 units sold and a 41.7% year-on-year increase; general markets 29,621 units sold and a 31.7% year-on-year increase; Europe 31,956 units and a 30.1% year-on-year increase; Korea 39,017 units and a 7.2% year-on-year increase.

In the first ten months of 2009 Kia also had a good run, its ales increasing by 13.9% year-on-year and reaching 1,336,378 units. The Chinese market experienced the highest growth, with 191,765 units sold to date, representing a 54.8% increase. Korea had a 24.6% increase with 327,542 units sold; general markets had a 12.6% growth with 243,530 units sold; and North America showed cumulative year-on-year sales increases of and 8.8% 301,069 units sold.

In 2009, Kia’s best selling model is Cerato, also known as Spectra or Forte, with 237,402 units sold. The Rio and the Sportage came second, with nearly 142,000 units sold, while the c’eed comes third with 102,963 units sold worldwide.
