Kia is taking its new-age story one step further, preparing to introduce a new concept at the upcoming 2011 Detroit Auto Show. The company has released a teaser of the vehicle, which will use the KV7 name.
The vehicle seems to build on the Kia Soul’s design, taking the funky (yes, we know, this word has been excessively used to describe the Soul) image to a new level. The concept will offer original solutions, such as a set of gullwing rear doors.
However, the interesting design approach doesn’t stop here, as the interior also offers a new layout. We are talking about a multifunctional set of rear seats. These can swivel, offering users the possibility to enjoy multiple configurations. As for the dasboard, this uses a minimalist layout.
Here’s how Kia describes its latest creation: “For the past several years Kia Motors’ design-led transformation has been delivering production vehicles – such as the Soul, Forte Koup and Sportage – that bear a very close resemblance to the original concept designs that preceded them. At the 2011 North American International Auto Show in Detroit, Kia will make another dramatic design statement with the world debut of an all-new, convention-challenging concept vehicle named “KV7.”
autoevolution will be attending the 2011 North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) in Detroit, so stay tuned for some real up close and personal shots of the vehicles, as well as for first-hand details of the motorized contraptions presented at the event.
