'The year of recalls' continues in 2015 apparently. GM said nothing new is on the list for now but Kia is here to keep things going. The Korean automaker is recalling some 90,000 Soul models for headliner issues.
According to the report, the problem appears to only affect 2010-2013 Kia Souls manufactured between January 8th, 2009 to October 2nd, 2013 fitted with a sun roof. The headliner plate may detach during deployment of the curtain air bag.

And as you can imagine, if this happens, the head of the passengers may get hit by the headliner and increase chances of injury during an impact.

The issue is easily fixable, with Kia first notifying the owners of such models and the latter having to present to an authorized dealership where technicians will instal industrial strips to secure the headliner free of cost, as expected.

Can't really tell if your Kia Souls is affected by the problem and the automaker hasn't notified you yet? Then you can call the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153).

The last recall conducted by Kia happened last year, with around 52,000 Soul models had steering problems due to a thread-locking adhesive not being properly applied to the plug that attaches the pinion gear to the steering gear.
