Kia cee'd tops the Driver Power's Compact Family category, detrimental to Volkswagen, Toyota and Fiat, the South Korean car manufacturer announced in a release today. Driver Power is a survey conducted in the United Kingdom which relies on information provided by drivers in the country related to reliability, satisfaction, build quality and running costs.
"What a debut! Kia has come a long way and these results underline our belief in the design, quality and value of our products. But don't take our word, our customers are doing the talking through the Driver Power survey," Paul Philpott, Managing Director, Kia Motors (UK) Ltd., said.
"Yes, you can pay more for a Volkswagen Golf, but these results ask why. The Kia cee'd has dynamic design, high build quality and frugal engines, all backed by a seven-year 100,000 mile warranty and all for much less."
In the UK, Kia cee'd is offered in a choice of five different trims, S, GS, SR-7, LS and Sport, with pricing between 11,440 pounds for the 1.4-liter S and 15,940 pounds for the 2.0-liter CRDI Sport.
Kia cee'd has always been one of the models praised for their CO2 emissions in the United Kingdom, with the 1.4-liter S version producing 145 g/km. The most advanced version from this point of view is the 1.6-liter CRDi GS that generates 119 g/km of CO2, with a fuel consumption of 62.8 mpg in combined conditions. The top-of-the-range 2.0 CRDi Sport produces 148 g/km and achieves a fuel consumption rating of 50.4 mpg in mixed cycle.
