Kia has just announced the official pricing information for the new Optima Hybrid, a car which should steal some of the sales of diesel cars, which are so popular on the Old Continent. Now, Kia has priced its hybrid Optima starting at €28,995.
But what do you get for your money? Well, you get the excellent if-a-bit-conservative styling, a high-quality interior and surprisingly good road manners and dynamic capabilities. However, these are qualities possessed by the non-hybrid version, so there must be more reasons to buy this car specifically.

Well, it is powered by a combination of a 2.0-liter petrol engine with 150 hp and 180 Nm of torque, which is aided by a 40 hp electric motor, which raises the maximum power output to 190 hp and 245 Nm. This means the car is able to sprint from 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) in 9.2 seconds.

Factor in the regenerative braking, and the 123 g/km CO2 rating, as well as its fuel economy rating, which in the US has been rated at 6.72 l/100km city and 5.9 l/100km highway, achieving an average of 6.53 l/100km. The car will be offered in two trim levels, both of which being extremely well equipped, with everything you could want on a car of this type.

The higher-spec car adds full-leather upholstery, Xenon headlamps, tire pressure monitor, ventilated driver’s seat, 12-speaker sound system, sat-nav and rear parking camera, as well as special 17-inch alloy wheels.
