With Jorge Lorenzo winning the race at Misano and closing the gap between him and the rookie sensation Marc Marquez to a more manageable 34 points, Tissot Australian Motorcycle Grand Prix-run Keeping track has been talking to riding legend Kevin Schwantz about the battle at the top of the championship.
Schwantz added that even if the actual MotoGP bikes are so much easier to ride than the old 500cc machines back in the day were, it's still wonderful to see Marquez showing such convincing skills. The Spaniard seems to have no fear of anything but his lack of experience could prove enough to cause him to lose the title.

Seeing the way Jorge Lorezo has been pressing Marquez, Schwantz believes the reigning champion has a real chance to beat the rookie, despite the hefty, yet not insurmountable gap. Putting extra pressure on Marquez during practices and qualifying can even cause the younger to make more mistakes, to Lorenzo's advantage, the Texan rider adds: "I think he is the only one who could do it and beat Marc. Or Marc could do it himself…”

With the 2013 MotoGP season 5 rounds short of completion, Jorge Lorenzo has to ride flawlessly and hope that Pedrosa, Crutchlow and especially Pedrosa can finish races ahead of Marquez. As for the rookie, failing to finish a race due to a mistake would obviously bring him in Lorenzo's sight. And the Cobra rarely makes mistakes...
