Kevin Nicks’ Fastest Shed Makes It Into the Guinness Book of World Records 2020

Some years ago, Kevin Nicks had an idea that would make dropping his daughter off to school a bit more fun. In the process, he created the world’s fastest garden shed, which has been selected as an entry for the Guinness Book of World Records 2020.

Nicks’ creation (which is road-legal, fyi) first made headlines in 2016, when it set its first speeding record, of 80 mph. With plenty more work, Nick was able to break his own record, reaching 101.046 mph and then, last year at Pendine Sands, 101.581 mph.

No wonder then that he will be featured in the annual book of record holders from Guinness. This year, though, brings something different: by partnering up with Airbnb, Nicks will share his Fastest Shed experience with anyone interested. The experience is hosted at a classic car show in Gloucestershire, UK.

Prices start at £120/person and availability is already very scarce for the next 3 months. Those who have already booked dates will get 3 hours with Kevin and his impressive machine, which he built on a Volkswagen Passat. They can look around, take a drive in the Shed and ask Kevin technical questions. Coffee and cake are included, and Kevin promises an experience like no other before.

The Garden Shed has covered 34,000 miles so far, in between traveling the country for shows and taking part in competitions. It is now powered by a 4.2-liter V8 Audi RS4 engine and can fit only one passenger. It’s got all the comforts you’d expect from a real car, like air conditioning, remote central locking and electric windows.

As if the fact that it’s a garden shed on wheels isn’t enough to impress you, it also has a trick hydraulic system that allows it to bounce when you want it to. Because nothing spells gangsta than a speeding wooden garden shed.
