He may have let the surprise birthday gift slip the other day, in an interview on national television. But that doesn’t mean the NASCAR Sprint Cup champion didn’t enjoy his son’s big smile when the little fellow got it eventually. And that’s what you’ll see in this clip Kevin Harvick posted on his Facebook account.
Kevin Harvick was interviewed on NBC during Sunday’s rain delay prior to the Coke Zero 400, when he proudly mentioned the gift his soon-to-be three-year-old son was about to receive. Apparently he wasn’t supposed to say anything about it, considering he’s wife DeLana later took it to Twitter.

OMG! Did ya really think Keelan wouldn’t be watching your interview? He cried the entire interview, except the part where dad said dune buggy... He quickly repeated that,” his wife wrote.

Leaving the chit-chat behind for a second here, we should all remember that to become a professional driver you need to start training young.
In fact, most of the gifted racers out there were also offered a go-kart at some point throughout their childhood.

Harvick himself went through something similar. He began kart racing at an early age after his parents bought him a go-kart as a kindergarten graduation gift in 1980.

To be honest, it’s not the first time we talk about parents who are trying to inspire the same occupation into their kids. However, if the little boy decides to walk on the same path, he will have big shoes to fill. After all, we are talking about the reigning NASCAR Sprint Cup champion here.
