KessTech Promotes Sound Management System with Sexy and Funny Biker Chick Ad

German manufacturer KessTech has designed a system which alters the noise levels of the exhaust silencers, while maintaining emissions and power specs. All a press of a button away, the KessTech Electronic Sound Management 2 (ESM2) is a really neat solution for those who want custom-grade sound on their bikes, but who are not exactly eager to be fined.
When it comes to motorcycle exhausts, the noise levels are always a problem. Emissions are also one of the things the state wants to control, but the sound level is probably the first thing which may cause a cop to pull you over and ask for proofs of compliance with the local noise regulations.

A quarter of a second makes the difference

Aftermarket, high-performance motorcycle exhausts are all facing the same problem, trying to keep both emissions and noise within the legal limits. German manufacturer KessTech has implemented a mobile exhaust valve in the end caps of their cans and added easy-to-use electronic control for changing its position.

All it takes is a quarter of a second and the valve will close or open, as needed. In the open position, the KessTech cans fitted with the ESM 2 system are legal when idling and in the 1st, 4th, 5th and 6th gear. In the second and third gears the valve will remain closed. That’s right, the valve takes revs, speed and gear position into consideration for changing position. For example, the valve closes automatically during idle running at half the rated speed, and will remain closed between 50 and 80 km/h (31-49 mph).

The KessTech exhausts are now being imported in the USA, too, being legal even in California, a state well-known for the strict emissions regulations enforced. As for the funny ad you can watch below, we’re not at all sure it will be aired in the US, as some might find it “inappropriate, offensive and in bad taste”. We here are bikers who know how to appreciate the mix of funny and sexy, so we laughed our faces off watching it and sharing it with a ton of friends.
