Kepler Developing 800 HP Hybrid Electric Supercar

Kepler Motors, a U.S. based company, has announced it is developing a hybrid electric supercar, called MOTION, which will be displayed later this week, at the Dubai International Motor Show.

Inside every true supercar beats a mighty, powerful heart. MOTION has two of them. For a traditional kick at the rear wheels, it is equipped with a 3.5-liter, Ford sourced, EcoBoost V6, tuned to develop 550 hp, twice its original output. To comfort the front wheels, the company has gifted them with 250 electric hp coming out of a second motor. Summing all 800 horses up, with no discrimination, the machine prides itself on its Dual-Powertrain Technology, all wheel drive capabilities.

The list of integrated advanced technologies continues with the use of carbon fiber and composite materials for the monocoque chassis and body. The stopping power is provided by four of Stop Tech’s Continous Carbon Ceramic (C3) Aero Rotors. No details have been released about the suspension, other than the fact that it will be active.

To manage all these features, and make them a whole which is greater than the sum of its parts, a programmable track assistant system (launch control included) will be featured on the car. Unfortunately, the company has not disclosed the price for all these promised technological wonders.

In order to believe all this (please blame the large number of “on paper” supercars which stayed that way for our lack of confidence ) we will have to wait until 2011, when Kepler Motors is supposed to start delivering the first units of the 50 vehicles they intend to manufacture.
