If you liked Ford v Ferrari, there’s a good chance you like this gaming project as well, as it brings an already iconic design to a modern car that you can still get today.
What you see here is the paintjob originally used on Ken Miles’ Ford GT40 for the 1966 Le Mans recreated for the gaming version of the 2017 Ford GT.

The idea belongs to a Forza Horizon 4 player who managed to design a super-accurate livery for the game, obviously with a few exceptions here and there that could easily be refined in future updates.

For example, the Ford text on the sides could very well use the original font that the Ford GT40 sported at Le Mans, albeit the difference between the two versions is something that not everyone might notice.

The Ford GT is a model that’s particularly successful not only in Forza, but also in the real life.

Currently at the second generation, the latest Ford GT was announced at the 2015 North American International Auto Show, but given its gaming appeal, it was also on display at the debut of Forza Motorsport 6.

The new 2-door coupe is manufactured by Ford in Canada and comes with a 3.5-liter twin-turbocharged EcoBoost V6 engine that develops close to 650 horsepower. Paired with a 7-speed Getrag transmission, the Ford GT is really a beast, as it can reach a maximum speed of no less than 348 kph (that’s around 216 mph for our American readers).

And of course, the 0 to 100 kph (62 mph) acceleration times are impressive as well. The car sprints to 100 kph in just 3 seconds, reaching 210 kph (130 mph) in a little over 10 seconds. It needs just 21.4 seconds to go from 0 to 274 kph (170 mph).

The 2020 model year update introduces a series of changes, including an engine output of 660 horsepower, but also new standard options, like a titanium exhaust system developed by Akrapovic.
