As if owning over 150 vehicles, some of which are extremely rare, is not enough it turns out the famous Lingenfelter collection just got a little bigger. As opposed to famous artists that have spare millions to spend on the most expensive rides on the planet, however, at least this LaFerrari will be in the company of immaculate exotics.
West Bloomfield, Michigan-based Cauley Ferrari dealership is the on that sold this particular unit and they just made the announcement on their Facebook account. Normally, we’d ask ourselves how come this world is that unfair, since most of the people that buy these hybrid puppies are usually celebrities. But, we won't do that with this LaFerrari.

No, this red beauty was sold to one of America’s greatest car collectors, one that comes with quite an interesting story. The ride starts decades ago when John Earl Lingenfelter was slowly becoming a great NHRA racer. Over his career, he won 13 national events in Competition Eliminator and was the first in the class to break the six-second quarter-mile barrier.

But folks in the industry will always remember Lingenfelter as a great engineer and a gifted tuner. The Decatur, Indiana-based Lingenfelter Performance Engineering he created has designed one of the fastest and most performant modified GM cars in US over the years. Some were sold, some were put aside into what has now become a great collection. The late racer has left the keys to the empire to his son Ken, who seems to be handling the cars just fine.

The list of the cars is huge so you’re going to have to visit the shop in Brighton to see them all, but according to their website, 40% are Corvettes, 30% muscle cars and 30% exotics. You definitely won’t get bored while you’re there. In fact, if you wait enough you’ll also see Ferrari’s beautiful hybrid newborn sitting next to his older brothers and cousins.
