Ken Block Unveils His Ford Fiesta RS WRC HFV

All gearheads associate Monster World Rally Team driver Ken Block with WRC, rallycross, and Gymkhana. When witnessing Ken Block’s Gymkhana, one question pops up in every enthusiast’s head, and that is: what the... is hiding under that hood? For WRC competitions and Gymkhana, Ken Block uses a modified version of Ford Fiesta, which has been tweaked in such a manner that many people consider the car mind-blowing.

The competition car is based on the WRC Ford Fiesta RS which has been fitted with a Focus RS WRC 2.0L engine in order to meet three different requirements: Gymkhana, Rallycross and USA stage rally. The Ford Fiesta HFHV(Hybrid Function Hoon Vehicle) is powered by a 2.0 liter four-cylinder Ford EcoBoost engine that boasts 600hp(813Nm) and 665lb-ft(901Nm).

The AWD system in the Fiesta was designed and built by Sadev and features a 6-Speed sequential manual gearbox with three adjustable and mechanical differentials.

“The H.F.H.V. is the best of all worlds for me. The current WRC Fiesta is the greatest handling car I have driven, but it lacks the sheer grunt that the 2.0L engine in the WRC Focus created. The H.F.H.V. brings those two things together, and the result is a manic beast that is just too much fun to drive.”Ken Block was quoted as saying by egmcartech.com

Since Ken Block competes in different disciplines, the engineering team behind the car is constantly making adjustments at the engine, suspension, and tires in order to find the perfect balance in order to make the Ford Fiesta HFHV perform at “full throttle“ at every event.
