The new F30 3 Series is a wonderful machine. Probably the best thing about it are the new engines and their unparalleled level of performance whilst also keeping the fuel consumption and CO2 emission levels in control.
One of these is the 330d. The 3-liter diesel under the bonnet puts out 254 HP and 560 Nm (413 lb-ft) of torque. With the 8-speed ZF gearbox, the car reaches 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 5.6 seconds and returns an average fuel consumption of just 4.9 l/100km (48 mpg).
That is called performance. Not in the classic way, but in the 21st century, expensive oil way. However, one thing is missing. Being a diesel, that specific sound makes itself heard and, let's face it, nobody likes that.
