CD Projekt’s upcoming action role-playing dystopian extravaganza, Cyberpunk 2077, is certainly one of the most anticipated video games of the year. It’s not only because of the open world nature of Night City, its stylized graphics, or star-power implication. Write all that down and leave some more room for Keanu Reeve’s virtual impersonation of Johnny Silverhand as the titular character, as well as the fact he will be driving a custom 1977 Porsche 911 Turbo.
We’ve known for some time already that Cyberpunk 2077 might fulfill all of our action-adventure video game dreams. It was the moment when the studio behind it, CD Projekt, announced the implication of one of the biggest Hollywood stars – Keanu Reeves.
Just a few days ago the package became almost perfect for automotive aficionados, because the creators also announced the inclusion of a virtual recreation of the 1977 Porsche 911 Turbo as a unique, fully drivable vehicle dedicated to “rebel rockerboy” Johnny Silverhand.
Seriously, do you think it could have become any better than this?! Well, Porsche seemed to think so, because they produced a custom (and fully operational!) real-life counterpart of the virtual car that Johnny Silverhand uses. That’s right, the German automaker actually had the car in Cyberpunk 2077’s signature attire on display for a brief period of time at the Porsche Museum.
They even shot a partner commercial with it (video embedded below, alongside a nice behind the scenes making off), but unfortunately the one man we all love after the Matrix and John Wick series wasn’t present. Sure, we can understand why that’s not possible because of the current global health crisis – but we still took ample time to review both videos frame by frame...
Oh, well, at least the wait is almost over, and fans will be able to have an adventure alongside Johnny Silverhand / Keanu Reeves and the Porsche 911 Turbo come November 19th. The best thing, the video game will be available on a multitude of platforms, including Stadia, Windows, PlayStation, and Xbox.
