The smaller sibling of the ZX-10R couldn’t be left aside by Kawasaki when it launched the new special edition machines for the British market. The ZX-6R Ninja, one of the most popular middleweight sport bikes ever, was most recently revised in 2009, when it received a large amount of upgrades and tweaks.
The model then received a redesigned frame and engine, a more bulky swingarm and a weight reduction of about 10 kilos.
Now, the Kawasaki ZX-6R Performance Edition comes to change the bike again, as a special extra package that includes official Kawasaki accessories, with a two-year guarantee, available for British fans of the model, MCN reports.
Unlike the ZX-10R Performance Edition, this limited edition version of the ZX-6R retains the original Kawasaki green color, but it does, however, feature distinctive elements that sets it apart from the standard model.
Just like the bigger ZX-10R, the smaller Ninja gets an Akrapovic silencer, double bubble screen, rear seat cowl plus tank and knee pads, at a total price of £1,000 if bought separately. Moreover, the silencer gives the ZX-10R a 3 bhp power gain.
The ZX-6R costs £9,000 which is an extra £850 on the standard bike’s £8,150 price tag. This means British customers will benefit save £150 on accessories with the Kawasaki ZX-6R Performance Edition. The bike, however, is also available with 0% interest over three years with a £99 deposit.
