Kawasaki Unwraps 2014 Ninja 300 ABS SE

Kawasaki introduces their premium Ninja 300 machine, the 2014 ABS Special Edition. Fairly easy to mistake it for a middleweight sport beast the 2014 Ninja 300 ABS SE is clearly aiming for the title of the best lightweight sportsbike.

Far more than simply making claims, the new small Ninja brings several of the premium technologies Kawasaki has loaded in their top-drawer machines, and ABS is only one of them. Noticeable upgrades from the common small-displacement bikes come in the form of the FCC assist slipper clutch, air management system, digital injection and a most rigid sportsbike frame.

Premium digital instrumentation is also standard, with an Eco indicator telling the rider when they're riding in a manner which maxes out fuel economy. Ergonomics also received some revisions, with the seat being narrower in the front, while the slight canter forward mixes the sporty position with the comfort needed for longer rides.

The 2014 Ninja 300 ABS SE comes in Lime Green/Ebony with Special Edition Graphics and Pearl Stardust White/Ebony for a MSRP of $5,499 (€4,145). The price may be fine with Europe and North America, but in its native India, the 2014 Ninja 300 lost the battle with KTM 390 Duke.
